Gavin and Orlaith were joined by a whole host of well-known Irish celebrities at the 12th Annual Celebrity Ward Walk at our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. Every year around 20 of Ireland’s leading singers, actors and TV personalities join forces for this special visit and this year was no exception.
Director of Nursing at OLCHC, Rachel Kenna said: “It’s just wonderful to see our patients faces light up when the stars enter their wards”. Rachel explained how over 100 very ill children will spend Christmas Day in hospital this year- putting a huge strain on families at an already stressful time. Having a fun filled event like the ward walk is therefore a wonderful way for our young patients to experience that little bit of Christmas magic.
Patients from each ward joined Chris De Burgh, Rosanna Davidson and Brendan O Carroll for some carol singing before spending some one to one time with patients and their families. Gavin and Orlaith were delighted to take part in such a special event and for the opportunity to meet with so many incredibly brave children.
As you can see, Gavin had a great time carol singing too!
